(Wow)

Maida Vale is a very important place for music for many reasons, one being that it was the home of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop who were integral to the development of electronic music. Check out this pre-'IDM' track of Delia Derbyshire's from the late 60s.

Liverpool

We played at MelloMello at the launch of Look.See.Disco! A good night was had by all and people seemed to be enjoying it; No table dancing this time around, but a great show nonetheless! We then took ourselves off to Magnet and danced until the sun came up to the sounds of DJ Buddha, who as far as we're aware spins every Friday, so if you're around in Liverpool and enjoy shaking it to old jungle/new dubstep then it's the place to do so.

(a H U G E head at MelloMello)

London

It may have taken an age to get there and the car was incredibly warm on the way down, but in the words of Usher "Oh My Gosh" it was worth it! We played at the Lock Tavern as part of the AITBF Weekender, organised by Huw Stephens to a room full (1 in, 1 out) of sweaty folk who were more than up for it! We also possibly, maybe, perhaps saw Chris Martin, he left after watching and chatting to the first band (The High Wire), but still...Chris Martin (or his lookalike). The show was ace, nice and loud, good monitors, a decent projector for Rita to use, and lovely friendly people everywhere. Result. Big thanks to Huw and Felson for spinning wild electro/dubstep/pop in the decks, and Mr.Fogg and The High Wire for playing.

Cardiff

Gwdihw is such a lovely little venue. Our friend Tom Jones (not the singer) put the gig on for us; he had described the venue as "your nan's living room", and he couldn't have been more right. The show was ace, and felt nicely attended due to the intimacy of the venue. We also got to share the stage with Theo (real name Sam), who deserves to be checked out, think math-rocky riffs and incredible drum skills by just one guy!

Wednesday at The Shipping Forecast, which is a brand new venue in Liverpool on Slater Street. The place has a wicked PA and the sound was awesome, just shame about the fact that no-one upstairs seemed to know there was a gig going on downstairs. Nevertheless fun was had and it was good to see Shadow Cabinet again. Those guys sound and look about as German as one could be without actually being German - beautiful technopop with moody lighting and sharp shirts.

On Friday we played at MelloMello. The atmosphere was incredible and as we played at midnight, a lot of people were a little bit drunk and really let go. Below is a (grainy) snap of the guy who danced so hard on a table that he eventually fell off. Luckily there was no lasting damage, so we applaud you for your efforts if you're reading.

micro tour

This Friday sees the start of what we've dubbed our micro-tour (as it's even shorter than a mini tour).

Firstly, the launch of Look.See.Disco! a new night at MelloMello in Liverpool. We're playing alongside Statement Haircut, Man Eats Plane, On Cruise, The Kronos and Wasted Time DJs. Entry is £2, doors at 7:30pm.

Secondly, is the third day of the Adventures In The Beetroot Field bank holiday weekender curated by none other than Huw Stephens. The event is taking place at the Lock Tavern in Camden, London. We'll be playing alongside The High Wire, Mr.Fogg, DJ Felson and Huw Stephens. It kicks off early, at 4pm and will go on well in to the night, and all of this for FREE!

Thirdly, our first trip to Wales. Cardiff to be exact. We'll be playing at a litle place called Gwdihw (pronounced "goody hoo") alongside one man math rock master, Theo. Entry is on a donation basis and doors are at 8pm.

That's all for now, we'l get back to working on some new tunes that none of you will hear for a while...
